Four members of the Brandon Power Lifting Club competed in the British Full Power Championships in King’s Lynn on Sunday 6th March. The Power Lifting Club, who train at Brandon Leisure Centre, were competing for the first time and all four competitors qualified for the European Full Power Championships.

Bill Rickets placed first in the M4 age category and Sean Manning placed first in the M2 class. Natalie Winstone placed third in the Women’s Open category and Lee Hyne placed third in his M2 category.

This is the first time that Brandon Power Lifting Club have entered any type of competition and the result of four members of the team qualifying for the Europeans is a phenomenal success. The European Full Power Championship will take place on 9th and 10th April at Weston-Super-Mare and Bill Rickets will be attending the competition.

Lee Hyne of Brandon Power Lifting Club said “It was a great event and was brilliant to see all four competitors qualify for the European Full Power. Considering how young the club is and that this was our first year of competing, this is a great achievement. Next year we would like for even more of us to qualify.”

Karl Holmes, Centre Manager at Brandon Leisure Centre, said “The results achieved by Brandon Power Lifting Club are truly amazing. Lee Hyne has done a wonderful job in growing this club who train at Brandon Leisure Centre and I look forwards to seeing them grow and compete in further competitions.”
