Do machines intimidate you?? Do you stick to cardio because you don’t want to bulk up?? Here at Skyliner Sports Centre our machines have step by step instructions on how to use them and a group of fantastic Fitness Coaches who are here to help you!!! Did you know that there are different types of weight training so you can get strong and tone up with out bulking!!! Just ask one of our team next time you are in!!! Above are two of our leg machines, first we have the leg curl which focuses on the back of the legs (hamstrings) and secondly we have our leg extension machine, this focuses on the front of the thighs (the Quadriceps)... These opposing muscle groups stabilise the the knees and also work together to move the knees and the hips, the quads (upper front thigh muscles) are used more frequently resulting in a slight strength imbalance, this is natural, however it is important that the imbalance doesn’t become to substantial as this can result in injury such as muscle strains and ligament sprains...
